If you are here, I am pretty sure you have been in debt at one point in your life. You are lucky if you paid it comfortably and that was it. Millions of Kenyans today are under a heavy burden of debt, debt that they are struggling to pay back, which is making them miserable, even depressed. 

In the past two years, we all had to grapple with unforeseen circumstances, loss of our sources of income and a desperate need to borrow, in the hope that things will get better. To most, things never looked up, they never got better. Which is why many are suffering. In any case, it is not like any other problem, like an illness, where you can ask for help. If people saw your items being auctioned, they would probably laugh at you, “you brought it on yourself,” they would say.
